Water St. Cafe in Geneva

Wish i could give zero stars. Waited well over an hour for our food on a Sunday afternoon. Waitress didn’t bother to check in after we got our food so we couldn't even express how bad everything was. We had to flag someone down each time we needed some thing anyway, could never find her. Avocado toast was gross, underripe avocados and no seasoning in it whatsoever. Just smeared a little bit of avocado on toast. Omelet was undercooked, home fries were burnt. Save yourself the money and go somewhere else.

Worst waitress I've ever experienced, took 40 mins for 2 pancakes and debris in my drink, placed us directly in front of the bathrooms and the cooks aren't wearing gloves or masks, definitely do not recommend.

Water Street it's my favorite place to eat a hangout. They make you feel like family. Crazy staff just like my family you fit right in.

Great food, good prices and friendly staff

Delicious food in a cozy diner-like atmosphere. Affordable prices, and the new owners are super friendly! We stayed on Seneca Lake for a week and ate here 3 times because it was so good. We will definitely be back!

Worth the drive from Canandaigua. What a diner should be. Great food served quickly even while packed. I am now a fan.

Great breakfast at an even better price. Tried the Statesman's platter and it was awesome with all the variety - eggs, bacon, home fries, and french toast. The eggs were also cooked perfectly. Definitely give this place a try if you are around town.

Water Street Cafe prepares your typical small town, diner food in the best way possible, and during Covid times. The eggs were perfectly cooked (over easy and over hard), the bacon crispy just the way I like it, and the coffee plentiful with a new cup on each refill. The staff was very friendly and attentive, and the restaurant was clean with plastic separations between each booth. It is definitely a place we will return to on future visits to Geneva.

Great food, great prices, great hometown feel! My husband and I love American homestyle diners. This is one of our favorites and we usually take out-of-town guests here for breakfast at least once during their stay. In addition to a good dining experience, the location is excellent: in good weather, be sure to walk down to the lake shore afterwards!

Great place for breakfast! Perfect menu and perfect people! The French toast was delicious. Its very near to Ramada hotel... Can walk even to have a lovely breakfast at the right price.

I was just passing through town and stopped in on a whim for coffee. I was able to snag the last open booth and use the public wifi of Geneva to write this very review with a seat looking out to Main St.The staff was very friendly to me and kept my coffee coming, and I was told it was only the 4th day running under new management, which everything seemed to be operating smoothly. A chilly Monday at noon--The vibe was good enough for me to say that I'd come back through. I hope to have some food next time, as the new manager was actually cooking, which is a great sign of a solid cafe/breakfast joint.Godspeed, James and crew. The 2 servers were very attentive, I didn't catch their name but they let me know it was James' house. Rock on yo.

Great spot. Was in Geneva for a conference. Nice diner with awesome breakfast. Best french toast I have ever had and delicious potatoes. Great price and friendly atmosphere. Love it!!!

The food is fantastic and very cheap. Is small and cannot accommodate more than 4 at a table. Good for a couple. Wonderful breakfast food.

They served me the best veggie omlet ever! The staff is extremely friendly. Stopping here for a nice early breakfast may be a tradition whenever in Geneva now!

Awesome food great service I personally drive past 4 other diners on my way to water street but any time myself or my brothers go out to breakfast we always meet at water street and that's coming from a family of chefs.

Family run diner. Gets busy but if you're patient you'll have a great breakfast! I love that they have gluten free breakfast options!!

Always fast friendly service. Food is top notch! If you need breakfast or lunch in Geneva, this is the place to go!

Great service and even better food!

Best diner food ever....I had eggs over easy and they were cooked perfectly!!! I also had a side of sausage gravy over biscuits...spectacular!! Coffee was great and oh yeah make sure you get the homemade sausage it is top rate! Service was friendly, down to earth and efficient. I was traveling through on my way back to Maryland. If I make it back to these parts again I will definitely stop here!

Favorite breakfast place! Great specials, the Statesman platter is a personal recommend. Only negative -ish thing to ever say is you wish it was bigger, with more capacity, but that's part of it's traditional charm. One of the best city diners in the Finger Lakes!

I turned 40 this year. I've had a lot of breakfasts... None have compared to Water St. Cafe! The French toast is to die for! You have to check this place out!

So delish! Indoor seating now open but we ate outside in the shade and enjoyed a nice day. The food was so good (Statesman and ("Garbage" 😊) and was the perfect start to a day of wine tasting.

The best breakfast garbage plate I have ever had. One of my favorite breakfast's are their banana pancakes and let me just add they are large pancakes. You will not be disappointed with whatever you order for breakfast or lunch. The service is awesome, very friendly and they treat us like family. GPD

Typical local cafe with diner options before 10 AM the breakfast specials include coffee. The homemade raisin toast was phenomenal and flaky/crispy. I loved it. The coffee was decent. Was not a huge fan of the type of home fries they served, but that’s just personal preference and did not reflect my overall score. Service was friendly and fast. They also gave out candies upon leaving - butterscotch- my favorite!

Awesome place!! Great menu, reasonable prices, delicious food, and staff who were friendly and attentive. The place was busy on a Saturday morning, but even with the Hobart hockey team filling up the back tables 🙂 we got seated and served quickly so we could get on our way. This place is a "must" if you're in Geneva!

Great hometown diner atmosphere. Waitress and customers knew each other by first name. Excellent breakfast at a great price.
